Mission Statement

Provide leadership to promote the DFW region's biomedical industry initiatives through education, collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Goals

  • Act as the primary vehicle that establishes the region as a global competitor in the life science industry.
  • Assist partner organizations to achieve economic development goals for the region.
  • Lead the development of Intelligent Medical Systems (IMS) initiatives. IMS is the convergence of Medical Devices, Communications, and Information Technology.
  • Provide an environment that fosters collaboration among industry, higher education, and other stakeholders and regional organization.

 

To Do This, BioDFW Will:

  • Host Workshops, Seminars, Networking events, Conferences, etc. to promote cross-industry collaboration.
  • Act as a catalyst to bring together parties from N.Tx universities and research institutions to align on IP commercialization goals/policies.
  • Promote the physical co-location/collaboration between university and other research institutions, industry and potential investors.
  • Inform and educate Local, State and Federal governments on financing needs of BioMedical companies in order for them to create funding programs (tax abatements, grants, ETF funding priorities, etc).
  • Maintain a dashboard summarizing companies in the region focused on IMS-related activities.
